This could be an indication that the government taking measures to replace Chiranjeevi with Centre’s Ayushman Bharat scheme by expanding it.

Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on several platforms has clearly announced that the state government will promote Union government’s Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme (ABHIS) and it will be expanded in the state.

The private hospitals are confused over the future of Chiranjeevi scheme as they have not received any communication from the government for reducing the coverage amount. “A lot of private hospitals have stopped Chiranjeevi scheme as they are confused if it will continue or be replaced by other health insurance scheme. We have not received any communication on it from the state government yet,” said private hospitals and nursing homes society (PHNHS) president Dr Vijay Kapoor.

Dr Kapoor said that since the health minister has taken charge now, a delegation of doctors will hold a meeting on this issue and other related issues.
