    New Delhi: The third edition of Global Bio-India (GBI) 2023, which will be held from 4th to 6th December in New Delhi, will provide a platform for large industries, biotechnology stakeholders, investors, and the startup ecosystem to network. The main theme of the third edition is Transforming Lives Biosciences to Bioeconomy.

    The three-day event organized by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), Government of India along with its Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) will also have a public session “Science Connect Series with Society” where global experts from healthcare, AI, lifescience.

    Speaking to ETHealthworld, Dr Jitendra Kumar, Managing Director, BIRAC about the third edition of Global Bio-India said, “The summit will provide an opportunity to showcase the potential of India’s biotech sector to the international community, identify, create opportunities and deliberate on the key challenges. Over 30 countries are participating in the event. Large participation from innovators, and startups is expected. We have separate pavilions for incubators, state representation, and startups. Also a separate theme pavilion for successful BIRAC startups.”

    He further added the event would have CEO Round tables where MNCs representing biopharma, medtech, diagnostics, industrial biotech, bio-agri. Stakeholder discussion on national and global regulatory trends, and supersessions on biomanufacturing and biotech innovation ecosystem.

    “The industry-academia interactions and representation from major industry associations, investor associations, global entrepreneurship organizations
    more would engage with the public through debates, dialogues, and audience interactions,” Dr Kumar stated.

    Over 300 exhibits by successful Biotech Startups/SMEs, more than a hundred biotech incubation centres 30 large industries and services CROs. Ten states’ representation will be promoting their biotech policies. About 25 universities and research institutions, and over 40 startups will be able to engage with the investors.
