NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday replied to the motion of thanks to President’s address in Lok Sabha. This is PM Modi‘s final address in the lower house before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Here are the key highlights of PM Modi’s address …
    * Going by their speeches, it appears that the opposition has taken a resolve to sit in the opposition benches for a long time.”They sat here [on treasury benches] for long, and now they will sit their for long. The people have decided their fate,” says PM Modi.
    * After the next election, opposition will be seen in the visitor’s gallery.
    * When the President came to this new Parliament building to address all of us and the pride and honour with which Sengol led the entire procession – we were walking behind it. When we become a witness to the reflection of that holy moment of India’s independence in this new tradition in the new Parliament building, the honour of democracy rises.
    * Congress had a great opportunity to be a good opposition. 10 years was a long enough time. But they failed in this task too.
    * Congress is now on the brink of shutting shop after repeated efforts to launch the same product, says PM Modi in a veiled dig at Rahul Gandhi.
    * There’s no party of Rajnath Ji. There’s no party of Amit Shah, says PM Modi as he targets opposition, especially Congress, over dynasty politics.
    * PM Modi’s scathing attack on opposition: “Maybe fishermen are not from the minority in your place, maybe animal herders are not from the minority in your place, maybe farmers are not from the minority in your place, maybe women are not from the minority in your place…What has happened to you? How long will you keep thinking about divisions? How long will you keep dividing the society?”
    * Congress is trapped in a cancel culture. They cancel Vande Bharat Trains, Make in India and new Parliament building. They cancel every achievement of India.
    * This is Modi’s guarantee that India will become the third largest economy in the world after US and China in my third term.
