During COVID-19 pandemic such review meetings were frequently held, but it could be for the first time that officials of medical colleges, health department officials and community health centres will jointly participate in the video conference to review the preparedness for any outbreak of highly contagious disease.
Amid spike in respiratory disease cases in China, the state health department, acting on the Centre’s direction, called its health experts who played a key role in COVID prevention and management.
The experts will give their suggestions to deal with any outbreak of infectious diseases in the state.
Director (public health), health department Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur issued a circular on Monday for holding a video conference. “We are reviewing the preparation including availability of human resources, medicines, oxygen in hospitals, which will be the centre of our discussion during the meeting,” said Dr Mathur.
Officials at state level have been invited for the video conference including commission of medical education, representatives of Rajasthan Medical Services Limited, team of Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, nodal officers of e-Upkaran, free medicine scheme and free diagnostic scheme have also been invited for the review meeting. Principals of medical colleges will also take part in the meeting.
